Celebrate the Better Angels of Our Nature.
The days are getting noticeably shorter, family.
It’s time to cover that koi pond, stock up on salt, and huddle in the soft glow of our tanks. Before Halloween thrills or chills us, it’s nice to remember that even in the depths of our collective winter, beauty is life’s norm — not its exception.
If you’ve been praying for angels in this dark, spooky season, it’s the perfect week for you to stop in and see what’s new at Aquarium Artisans. Come relax and bask in the natural glory.
Salties, don’t let these pass you by!
It’s been three years or more since a Passer Angel last graced our tanks. Well, guess who arrived this week and brought along a bunch of its hallowed friends? 🐠
Heavenly fresh.
Angels are everywhere, even in the Amazon basin! Unlike marine angelfish, which are more closely related to perch, South American freshwater angelfish are colorful members of the cichlid family.
Freshwater angels prefer a warm tank (around 80°F is ideal) and are semi-aggressive. Although they’ll easily take to flake food, be careful about placing them in a tank with smaller fish that, given an opportunity, they might ambush.
They also form monogamous pairs and can breed in ideal tank settings, so if you buy two or more, there’s a chance you might eventually be blessed with some cherubs! 😇
